Genomic testing services are delivered through four regional centres based in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow. These genomic laboratories collaborate through the SSNGM to deliver an equitable, high-quality genomic testing service for Scotland. SSNGM laboratories provide genomic testing services for both cancer and rare and inherited disease. More information on each laboratory can be found via the links below.

What cancer and rare and inherited disease tests are available?
The Genomics Laboratories deliver a diverse and evolving range of tests, as the number of conditions which can be tested for is increasing. A number of ‘core tests’ take place in all four of the centres and other specialist tests might be performed in one or two laboratories for the whole Scottish population.
The SSNGM structure means that clinicians, scientists and commissioners have a national forum. Within this, they can consistently identify, evaluate and implement the most clinically viable and cost-effective approaches to genomic testing.
The test directory contents and processes are currently under review by the SSNGM however, the most recent version of the directories can be found below for information.
